We have no experts, only eager learners. Come join the conversation!

Classes are filled, registration is closed. 2027 Great Decisions will open for registration this fall.

Do you enjoy stimulating conversation? Does your intellectual curiosity burn bright? Are you interested in discussing and learning more about U.S. foreign policy and global issues?

Once again, LifeLong Learning is proud to offer America's largest discussion program on world affairs. Great Decisions is an eight-week program created by the Foreign Policy Association.

The mission of the Foreign Policy Association today, as it has been for over 100 years, is to serve as a catalyst for developing awareness, understanding, and informed opinion on U.S. foreign policy and global issues. This is the 10th year LifeLong Learning has offered the successful Great Decisions program.

How does the Great Decision program work?

  • LifeLong Learning Great Decisions groups have a voice in determining foreign policy - your opinion matters so let your voice be heard!
  • In LLL's Great Decisions sections, each group meets to hold informed and thoughtful discussion under the auspices of the Foreign Policy Association (FPA).
  • Each week participants read the FPA 2026 Great Decisions Briefing guide (approximately twelve pages) to learn various approaches to a foreign policy issue.
  • The weekly sessions begin with a professional/academic video summary of the issues, then launches into a 90 minute discussion.
  • There is no need to reach a consensus: each individual sends his/her opinions to the FPA online after the session.
