Alice HaywoodInterested in learning more about the impressionist art movement? Join Alice Haywood on Thursday, March 19, 1 p.m. for a fun afternoon learning about this art form. During the 1860’s – 1880’s the world was changed through industrial revolution, war, political upheaval, and cultural innovations. Art changed as well. Is Artificial Intelligence luring us into another new epoch of life and art?

This talk will emphasize the history of the Art Institute of Chicago, how the Impressionist collection was established, and most importantly, the community of artists. They were true revolutionaries who brought this new way of artistic expression into existence. French painters Monet, Renoir, Degas, Cezanne, along with many others (some American) empathized different elements of art which changed the face of the art world.

Alice has lived in PebbleCreek since 2017. Previously she was part of the docent corps at the Art Institute of Chicago from 2012-2016. She gave tours to school groups and participated in many aspects of art education at the museum.
