Join us Friday, April 10, to hear an interesting and entertaining presentation from The Memory Man.
What if you could remember every day of your life? Or would never forget vital phone numbers, or need to write down driving directions to an important meeting? Welcome to the world of Bob Petrella.
Petrella, The Memory Man, is a remarkable keynote speaker known for his Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory (HSAM). Bob is one of only 60 people globally diagnosed with this extraordinary ability, allowing him to recall vast amounts of detailed information.
For Patrella, remembering is as natural as breathing. Ask him about a date decades ago, and he can tell you where he was, what he was doing, and even what significant events were happening in the world. While most of us rely on devices to store dates, reminders, or phone numbers, his brain effortlessly acts as its own database. This incredible ability has been documented on major platforms like 60 Minutes, Nightline, and The View.
Through captivating multimedia speaking presentations, Patrella shares his unique story and demonstrates practical memory techniques that anyone can use to sharpen their recall skills. His talks are equal parts entertaining and educational, blending personal anecdotes, scientific insights, and memory-boosting strategies that can benefit anyone looking to improve their memory.
Patrella's participation in studies at UC Irvine is helping scientists uncover the mysteries of HSAM. Researchers hope that understanding this extraordinary memory ability could lead to breakthroughs in combating memory-related diseases like Alzheimer's and dementia.
Patrella grew up in Western Pennsylvania, graduating from Penn State and moving to LA in 1980 where he made a living doing standup comedy. He later transitioned to television production working on popular shows such as "Deadliest Catch" and "Ice Road Truckers. He currently is a film professor at Santa Monica College.
