Please join us on Friday, March 27, 7 p.m., as Winnie Fritz, Army nurse and helicopter pilot in Viet Nam, medical advisor to the King of Jordan, and top executive of several health care organizations, speaks of her experiences, projects, and “lessons learned” during health care work in 24 countries (Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America), in military and civilian roles.
From her “roots” on the Fritz Farm in Illinois to her current work in U.S. and international health care, she will share life and leadership lessons learned. She will describe specific projects and their outcomes, and share her passion for innovation: “how can we do things differently . . . when just better isn’t good enough”. She will describe innovations she (with much local on-site healthcare talent) launched in the US and overseas: new models of healthcare, new and renewed facilities and equipment design, and new care protocols.
Winnie Fritz has held leadership positions as a CEO, COO, Chief Clinical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer in seven U.S. hospitals, and has served as an Assistant Professor at four U.S. universities teaching graduate students on assessing and fixing our complex health system. She was recruited by His Majesty King Hussein of Jordan as a healthcare advisor and supervisor of a 28-hospital network. She worked in Jordan for 17 years and has a home there. She is currently COO and Senior V.P. of Clinical Services and Operations for HCCA Management Company, Nashville, TN, and consults for health organizations worldwide.
